UTEP and St Mary will square off in opening round stroke of the next annual Anaheim Classic on Thursday.
UTEP and St Mary will honest off in first round engagement of the following annual Anaheim Classic on Thursday. Nov 27 at the 7,800-seat Anaheim Convention Center. Tournament pairings were announced on Tuesday by ESPN Regional Television.
The Miners and the Gaels will meet in the key game of the day at 11 a.m. PST (noon MST). UTEP has been the home team for that game. Other Nov. 27 matchups are Cal State Fullerton vs. Wake Forest (1:30 p.m. PST), Arizona State vs. Charlotte (6 p.m. PST) and Baylor vs. Providence (8:30 p.m. PST).
UTEP returns seven and three from last years 19-14 crew that advanced to the Conference USA Tournament semifinals and a bid to the germinal College Basketball Invitational. Returning starters are oldest security Stefon Jackson (23.6 ppg in 07-08), sophomore sentinel Julyan Stone (2.8 ppg) and elder forthright Tavaris Watts (6.9 ppg).
