Carlos Tevez to return to England in time for Chelsea match
Carlos Tevez hopes to return to England in time for this weekends match against Chelsea.
The Manchester City striker has missed the clubs past three games after returning to Buenos Aires in the wake of the premature birth of his second daughter.
Yesterday, Roberto Mancini conceded that the Argentina strikers continued absence was becoming a big problem for his team and the Manchester City manager is planning for the FA Cup fifth-round replay away to Stoke City on Wednesday without Tevez.
Kia Joorabchian, Tevezs adviser, said he believes the player, who has scored 19 goals in all competitions this season, will be fit for the match at Stamford Bridge and denied claims that Mancini did not know where his client was.
He hopes to be back for the Chelsea game, Joorabchian said. Hes having to go through a very difficult period but hes dealt with them before and will continue to do so.
Tevezs wife, Vanesa, is now out of hospital, although the couples child is still in intensive care. The signs are very positive in terms of his daughters recovery, Joorabchian said. He Tevez was determined to get back for the Liverpool game but unfortunately the situation didnt get much better. However, she has got better over the weekend.
Joorabchian insists the information should not be news to City: He Tevez has been keeping the club informed on a daily basis - including the manager. They have exchanged messages once or twice. Hes training daily with the national team of Argentina out there. He is a professional. He understands that side of it.
