Why can’t Americans like football (soccer)
It’s people like you that our country USA isn’t really that good at football, the farthest we have ever reached in a world cup recently was quarter finals in 2002 and that proves we do have potential but all of the Americans would rather watch or play basketball or american rugby (football), we always get underrated by English, Mexicans, the whole world! Can’t you guys understand! Football is the most famous sport in the world! Like I said we have potential like the way we did in 2002! If we did have support I bet you we would have been one of the best or possibly the best in the world! Who agrees with me?
Also we also made it to 3rd place in a world cup before!!! But no one really cares about this sport sadly
No one really puts interest into MLS either

I think we will in time. Americans like being one of the best at the sport. Look at other sports, American Football no other country is better, Basketball US is the best in the world, Hockey US is one of the best in the world. If you look at USA Soccer rating in the last few years it has grown like crazy. What we need is more players like Dempsey of Howard who are playing in the EPL and playing well. Soccer is still young in the US compared to other sports and in time we will be better. Will it ever be
as popular as American Football, no but i think in time the USMNT and MLS can be a major sport in the United States. Look at how far soccer has come since the 70’s or 80’s. With ESPN starting to show EPL and there are Americans playing well around the world soccer will grow bigger and bigger. So will it be bigger than sports like Basketball, Baseball, Hockey, or American Football, no never. But it will continue to grow in fan base.
Hey, look how far the women’s team came this year! fans increased a lot! Just how baseball, now football, has had its reign over most popular sport in America, so will soccer. Unfortunately, currently, all the pretty cheerleaders cheer-leading for soccer players isn’t a high-school staple, so we don’t have as much emotional attachment.
Well it depends on the person. Sometimes there are other sports Out there and not enough time to eather to watch or to play it. Now i personually love soccer because i play it so it bacuallcly depends on the person and how much time you have.
